Maryland-Eastern Shore defeats Coppin State 68-67

BALTIMORE (AP) Troy Snyder scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Maryland-Eastern Shore handed Coppin State its fifth-straight conference loss with a 68-67 victory on Saturday.

The win snaps a four-game skid for the Hawks (5-22, 3-11 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) who occupy last place in the MEAC.

Hakeem Baxter added 15 points and seven rebounds for the Hawks. Devon Walker scored 12 points and KyRee Jones chipped in with eight.

The Hawks dominated both offensive and defensive boards, outrebounding the Eagles 49-34. Coppin State led 39-34 at the break but fell behind in the second despite superior shooting.

The Hawks hit just 38.8 percent from the field overall and 33.3 percent from beyond the arc.

Michael Murray was the high scorer for the Eagles (9-19, 6-9) with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
