Marberry, Pepper power Lipscomb to 94-68 win over Stetson (Jan 12, 2017)

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Rob Marberry scored 23 points in 20 minutes of action and Eli Pepper scored 12 points and grabbed 16 rebounds as Lipscomb beat Stetson, 94-68, Thursday night, extending its win streak to six games, its longest since the 2008-09 season.

The Bisons built a 22-point lead in the first half, 49-27, and shot 57.1 percent from the field, hitting 36 of 63 shots. The team shot just 2 of 17 from behind the 3-point arc.

Lipscomb (10-9, 2-0) leads the all-time series with Stetson, 16-15. The Hatters beat Lipscomb 96-75 in last year Atlantic Sun Conference semifinals.

Marberry hit 10 of 13 from the field and finished one point shy of matching his career high.

Derick Newton scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Hatters (7-11, 0-2). Divine Myles added 18 points and Leo Goodman chipped in 15 points off the bench.
