George Beamon scored 24 points to lead Manhattan over Niagara on Sunday for its fifth straight win.

Beamon was 8 of 10 from the free-throw line, and Michael Alvarado made 11 of 12 free throws, finishing with 13 points to lead a strong foul-shooting effort by the Jaspers. Manhattan (14-7, 6-2 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) made 83.3 percent of its free throws (25 of 30), including 20 of 21 in the second half.

The Jaspers built a 31-24 lead at halftime, holding Niagara to just 8 of 28 from the field (28.6 percent). The Purple Eagles (9-12, 4-5) finished shooting 38.3 percent (23 of 60) and were outrebounded 38-31 by the MAAC's top team in both those categories (39 percent field goal defense and +4.1 rebounding margin).

Antoine Mason led Niagara with 19 points and Marvin Jordan and Ameen Tanksley added 12 each.
