Louisville's Montrezl Harrell ejected after melee with Western Kentucky

A fight broke out during Saturday's basketball game between Louisville and Western Kentucky on FOX Sports 1 and a referee took the worst of it. Louisville junior power forward Montrezl Harrell was ejected from the game for throwing an elbow and suspended from the Cardinals' next game.
With players battling over a loose ball with 38.7 seconds remaining in the first half, Harrell lost his cool in a battle with Hilltoppers freshman guard Avery Patterson, who is eight inches shorter and 50 pounds lighter than his Louisville opponent.
In the scramble, Harrell appeared to try holding off on a punch once he started to throw it. However, he somehow connected with one of the referees, who immediately grabbed his shoulder in pain.
After reviewing video replays, Harrell was assessed a flagrant-2 foul and ejected for throwing an elbow, and also suspended from the fourth-ranked Cardinals' game on Tuesday against Cal State Northridge. He can return next Saturday against in-state rival and top-ranked Kentucky.
WKU's D.J. Clayton received a technical foul, along with technicals issued to both benches.
