Rudy Turner scored 20 points, leading five Louisiana-Monroe players in double figures in a 99-70 rout of the University of the Southwest on Monday night.

Dynile Forbes scored 19 points for the Warhawks (5-8), while Tony Hooper and Tommie Sykes chipped in 16 apiece. Lawrence Gilbert chipped in with 11 points.

The Warhawks led just 43-40 against the Mustangs, and NAIA school that counted the game as an exhibition, with 1:44 to play in the opening half. But ULM went on a 7-0 run to take a 10-point halftime lead.

The Mustangs stayed fairly close throughout the second half, but the Warhawks closed the game on a 10-0 run. They held the Mustangs scoreless for the final 3 minutes.

ULM shot 83.3 percent from the free throw line (25-for-30) compared to a 65 percent mark for the Mustangs (13-for-20).

Demetrius Evans led the Mustangs with 19 points.
