Lawrence Gilbert scored a career-high 28 points to lead four players in double figures as Louisiana-Monroe held off Northern Colorado 78-75 on Wednesday night.

Marcelis Hansberry added 13 points for the Warhawks (4-9).

Louisiana-Monroe led 76-71 on Hansberry's 3-pointer with 1:39 remaining in the game, but Chris Kaba hit two free throws and Devon Beitzel added a layup to cut the margin to 76-75 with 16 seconds left.

Hansberry followed with two free throws for a 78-75 lead, but Lonell Reeves missed two free-throw attempts and Northern Colorado's Neal Kingman had a chance to tie, but missed his last-second 3-point attempt from half court.

Hugh Mingo scored 12 points and Fred Brown added 10 for Louisiana-Monroe.

Beitzel scored 28 points and Kaba added 16 for the Bears (4-7), who have lost four straight games and are 0-6 on the road this season.
