Longwood 88, N.J. Tech 81

Martiz Washington scored a career-high 22 points to lead five Longwood players in double figures as the Lancers defeated the New Jersey Institute of Technology 88-81 on Tuesday night.
Jeremiah Bowman added 21 points, Antwan Carter 15, Aaron Mitchell 14 and Durann Neil 11 for the Lancers (7-14). Mitchell also had a career-high 10 assists.
Longwood, which has won four of its last seven games, snapped the Highlanders' three-game winning streak.
The Lancers led by 10 in the first half before taking a 40-36 lead into halftime. NJIT opened the second half with an 8-0 run to lead 44-40 and extended the lead to seven points with 15:47 left.
Longwood regained the lead briefly at 54-53, then moved ahead for good at 65-62 on a Washington 3-pointer with 6:25 left.
Chris Flores led NJIT (5-11) with 22 points, Isaiah Wilkerson had 15 and Lamar Kearse 14.
