Lo scores 33 as Columbia cruises past Brown 73-55

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) Maodo Lo scored a career-high 33 points, hitting 14 of 19 shots, including both of his 3-pointers, to lead Columbia to a 73-55 win over Brown on Friday night.

Lo had 24 points in the first half as the Lions (12-11, 3-5 Ivy League) raced to a 48-38 lead. He was 10 of 11 from the field with two 3s and 2 for 2 from the line, helping Columbia shoot 58.8 percent. Lo also finished with five rebounds, five assists and three steals.

It was the 135th meeting between the schools and Columbia now has 70 wins after sweeping Brown for the first time since 2010.

Cedrick Kuakumensah had 16 points and Rafael Maia 14 for the Bears (11-15, 2-7).

Lo had a layup and back-to-back three-point plays in a 10-0 run that made it 31-16 5:19 before the break and hit two 3s in the final 3:10.
