Late tip-in lifts St. Francis (Pa.) over Sacred Heart 79-78

LORETTO, Pa. (AP) Earl Brown tipped in the game-winner at the buzzer on Friday night and St. Francis (Pa.) survived a late scare from Sacred Heart 79-78.
Brown made 1 of 2 free throws with 9.6 seconds left to put St. Francis up 77-76 before Jordan Allen pushed Sacred Heart in front by one on a jumper with 7.7 seconds left.
St. Francis (10-6, 4-1 Northeast Conference) had a 20-point lead late in the first half, but allowed the Pioneers (7-11, 1-4) to completely erase it when Cane Broome's 3-pointer gave Sacred Heart a 71-70 lead with 5:32 remaining.
Ronnie Drinnon had 16 points and 15 rebounds to help the Red Flash remain tied for the conference lead. Greg Brown scored 14, and Ollie Jackson and Stephon Whyatt each added 10.
Evan Kelley had 22 points and De'von Barnett scored 19 to lead the Pioneers. Jordan Allen added 17 and Broome 13.
