Brandon Davis and Devon Lamb combined for 43 points as Lamar cruised past Lyon 115-57 on Friday night.
Davis led the game in scoring with 22 points. He shot 8 for 14 from the field, including six 3-pointers.
The Cardinals (1-0) came just shy of tying the school record of 116 points in a season opener, which they scored against Samford in 1990.
Lamb shot 8 for 15 from the field and finished with 21 points. He sank his first six shots from the floor, including a trio of 3-pointers. He also pulled down a game high nine rebounds.

Andy Lee scored a team high 12 points for the Scots (3-3).
Charlie Harper finished with 15 points and Donley Minor with 11 points for the Cardinals.
