Lafayette nets 2nd Patriot win; 66-58 vs. Bucknell

LEWISBURG, Pa. (AP) Seth Hinrichs scored 18 points, 14 in the second half, as Lafayette won for the first time in 16 tries at Sojka Pavilion, 66-58 against Bucknell on Wednesday.

Bucknell led by as many as nine in the first half. But Lafayette opened the second half on a 10-2 run, five by Dan Trist, to open up a 34-28 lead.

Dan Trist added 14 points and freshman Monty Boykins had 13 for Lafayette (6-16, 2-9 Patriot League). The Leopards made 20 of 27 free throws, eight coming from Hinrichs.

Cameron Ayers scored 22 points for Bucknell (10-12, 5-6) and Brian Fitzpatrick had 12. It was Ayers' fourth straight 20-point game. The Bison were just 2 of 16 from 3-point range.

Both teams shot below 40 percent in the first half as Bucknell held a slim 26-24 lead.

Bucknell won the first matchup between the schools on Jan. 8, 96-86.
