Kentucky, Duke commits headline first batch of Jordan Brand Classic picks

The first batch of players were selected to play in the Jordan Brand Classic.

Evan Daniels of Scout and Jason Jordan of USA TODAY High School Sports both announced the list on Friday morning.

Out of the 16 prospects picked, five of them are either committed to Kentucky or Duke. Big Blue Nation led the way with three picks. Point guard DeAaron Fox, shooting guard Malik Monk and power forward Bam Adebayo all earned selections. Duke's incoming tandem of Harry Giles and Jayson Tatum, arguably the two best players in high school basketball, will represent the Blue Devils. Miles Bridges (Michigan State), Markelle Fultz (Washington) and Omari Spellman (Villanova0 were some other notable committed players expected to participate in the annual showcase.

Daniels reports that six more players are expected to be added.

The Jordan Brand Classic will be held on April 15 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
