Justin Greene and Carlton Guyton scored 15 points each as Kent State pulled away for a 90-65 victory over Shawnee State on Monday night.

An 8-0 run, which included five points by Eric Gaines, gave the Golden Flashes (10-3) a 36-25 lead with 3:13 remaining in the first half and they led 44-31 at halftime.

Kent State pushed its lead to 20 points, 59-39, with 14:04 left in the game and it never led by fewer than 15 points after that.

Chris Evans added 13 points and Kris Brewer 10 for Kent State, which outshot the Bears (7-7), an NAIA school, 47.6 percent (30 of 63) to 36.1 percent (26 of 72).

Greene passed Chris Singletary to become Kent State's 12th-highest career scorer. He now has 1,249. His three steals gave him 99 for his career.

Tyler Morgan scored 14 points and Tyler Boyles 13 for Shawnee State.
