Justin Greene scored 23 points and Kent State overtook Eastern Michigan late in the first half, pulling away for an 80-70 win Wednesday night that gave the Golden Flashes their fifth straight victory.

Kent State (16-7, 7-2 Mid-American Conference), which maintained its lead atop the conference's East Division, has won 15 straight against the Eagles, matching the longest current winning streak by any MAC team over another (Miami vs. Eastern Michigan).

The Eagles (6-17, 3-7) took a 10-2 lead and held the advantage, except for three ties, until Randal Holt's jumper with 6:09 left pushed the Golden Flashes ahead 24-22.

After Brandon Bowdry tied it, Kent State took a 40-34 edge into halftime.

The Golden Flashes led by as many as 16, shooting 50 percent in both halves to finish at 30 of 60.

Bowdry scored 25 to lead Eastern Michigan, which shot 38.2 percent (26 of 68).
