Kennesaw State overtakes Jacksonville in 78-65 win

KENNESAW, Ga. (AP) Yonel Brown scored 21 of his career-high 29 points in the second half to lead Kennesaw State to a 78-65 win over Jacksonville on Thursday night.
Brown, who hit 9 of 15 from the field, also sank a career-high seven 3-pointers and grabbed seven rebounds. Nigel Pruitt added 19 points for the Owls (9-17, 3-6 Atlantic Sun), who got their first-ever season sweep over Jacksonville with the win.
Tied at 35 at the break, Kennesaw State broke away midway through the second half with a 9-0 run that included a 3 from Brown and was capped by Willy Kouassi's dunk to make it 63-53 with 5:27 left.
Jacksonville (7-19, 1-8) twice cut the gap to seven down the stretch but couldn't overtake the Owls.
Kori Babineaux led the Dolphins with 19 points, J.R. Holder added 14 and Marcellous Bell had 13.
