Nick Murphy scored 12 points to lead Jacksonville State past South Dakota 64-56 in the Global Sports Roundball Classic Saturday night.
Dominique Shellman and Brian Williams added 10 points each for the Gamecocks (2-4), who shot 49 percent from the field (23 of 47) while limiting the Coyotes (1-4) to just 39.6 percent (21 of 53).
Charlie Westbrook led South Dakota with 14 points and nine rebounds.
Jacksonville State led 28-21 at halftime.
