Tyrone Hanson scored 22 points and Jackson State beat Alabama A&M 57-55 on Thursday night for its second win in a row and fourth in the past five games.

Jenirro Bush added 21 points for the Tigers (6-8, 2-0 Southwest Athletic Conference).

The Tigers shot only 39.3 percent from the field (22 of 56). Hanson and Bush each made eight field goals for the game while the rest of the team combined to shoot 6 for 28. Hanson also made 5 of 6 shots from 3-point range.

Jackson State played well defensively again and has allowed 55 points or less in each of its past four victories.

Diamon Alexander scored 11 points and Demarquelle Tabb had 10 for Alabama A&M (4-7, 1-1), which has lost five of its past six games. The Bulldogs are averaging only 52 points per game in those losses.
