Frank Gaines scored 19 points and Jeremy Mixon had 18 as IPFW held off Oral Roberts for an 80-77 win on Saturday night.
Zach Plackemeier's 3-pointer gave IPFW (14-7, 8-3 Summit) a 77-74 lead with 49 seconds remaining. He added a pair of free throws with 8 seconds left to make it 79-75 and seal the win for IPFW, which led by as many as 12 points (52-40) in the second half.
Damen Bell-Holter scored a game-high 22 points and had 10 rebounds for the Golden Eagles (9-14, 6-5). Dominique Morrison added 17 points and Warren Niles had 16 for Oral Roberts.
Trey McCorkle just missed a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds, while Plackemeier finished with 14 points for IPFW.
