Ben Botts scored 20 points and IPFW repelled a late charge to beat Oral Roberts 76-73 on Tuesday night.
Botts made 8 of 9 shots, including all three 3-point attempts, for the Mastodons (8-4, 3-0 Summit). Jeremy Mixon added 15 points and Frank Gaines 14.
Dominique Morrison led all scorers with 24 points for the Golden Eagles (5-9, 2-1). Steven Roundtree added 14, Damen Bell-Holter 11 and Ken Holdman 10.
Antwaun Boyd sank two free throws to put IPFW ahead 28-27 with 2:25 left in the first half, and Oral Roberts trailed the rest of the way. It was 33-28 at the break.
The Mastodons led 74-63 with 3:33 left, but Oral Roberts ran off 10 in a row. Morrison's free throw trimmed it to 74-73 with 12 seconds left, and Mixon responded with two foul shots for IPFW. Morrison and Bell-Holter missed three-pointers in the final 3 seconds.
