Mike Glover scored 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Iona over Norfolk State 73-64 on Tuesday night.
The Gaels (3-3), who led 38-31 at halftime, trailed 61-57 with 5:40 left and used a 16-3 run the rest of the way to win their third straight. Glover scored five points during the spurt, including a dunk to put Iona ahead for good, 63-61, with 3:03 left.
The Spartans (1-5), who dropped their fourth straight, opened the second half on a 12-3 run and shot 48.1 percent (13 of 27) in the period to overcome an early deficit.
The Gaels scored the game's first seven points and led by as many as 19, 34-15, with 3:59 left in the first half.
After averaging 17 points over his previous three games, Kyle Smyth scored 18 against the Spartans.
Norfolk State was led by Kyle O'Quinn with 15 points and 11 rebounds and Marcos Tamares with 15 points.
