Inspirational Hill receives honorary doctorate from her university

Lauren Hill, the inspirational young woman who didn't let brain cancer keep her from realizing a dream and playing in a college basketball game, was honored on Friday night with an honorary Doctor of Human Letters from her school, Mount St. Joseph University.
"Lauren has served as an inspiration to us all," Mount St. Joseph President Tony Aretz said in a news release. "Her determined spirit, positive attitude and love of God have taught us all valuable lessons as she has lived the Mount's mission."
Hill, 19, is a freshman at the Cincinnati college. She has an inoperable form of brain cancer. Still, she managed to play in a Mount St. Joseph game on Nov. 2 and serves as an advocate for research into pediatric brain cancer.
Hill also visits others who have cancer and wears a blue cape when she does so. On Friday night, she wore the cape after receiving her honorary degree.
