Ingram has 30 as NCCU beats Howard 92-46 in MEAC

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) Jeremy Ingram scored 30 points and top-seeded North Carolina Central rolled past eighth-seeded Howard 92-46 at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament on Wednesday for its 18th consecutive victory.

The 46-point victory, the largest margin in tournament history, sends NCCU into a Friday semifinal.

Ingram, the conference player of the year, had 21 points in the first half on 7-of-8 shooting, as the Eagles shot 71.4 percent to take a 47-23 halftime lead. Ingram's career and season high is 38 points.

Alfonzo Houston finished with 13 points for the Eagles (26-5) and Jay Copeland 11. NCCU shot 61.2 percent for the game, including 10 of 20 3-point attempts while outrebounding the Bison 36-26.

James Daniel scored 15 points for Howard (8-25) but the team's top scorer this season hit just 3 of 15 shots, including 1 of 7 from 3-point range. Eight of his points came at the free-throw line.
