Dwayne Lathan scored 13 points and Indiana State remained unbeaten with a 57-50 victory over Ball State on Friday.

Lathan also tied Ball State's Jarrod Jones for game rebounding honors with eight.

Carl Richard added 12 points and Jordan Printy 10 for the Sycamores (3-0). Steve McWhorter had five assists, and Justin Gant blocked five shots.

The Cardinals' Jauwan Scaife led all scorers with 15 points, but Ball State (0-2) shot just 30.8 percent (16 of 52) to 40.0 (18 of 45) for Indiana State.

The Sycamores, who led all the way, bolted to a 5-0 edge and were ahead 38-19 at halftime. The lead reached 20 points at 41-21, but Ball State closed within 53-44 on Aaron Adeoye's layup with 5:19 left. The margin stayed in single digits the rest of the way.
