Ill.-Chicago 83, Valparaiso 76

Robo Kreps and Josh Mayo both scored a game-high 25 points to lead Illinois-Chicago to an 83-76 win over Valparaiso on Sunday. Tori Boyd added 14 points and a game-high nine rebounds for the Flames (12-14, 5-11 Horizon), who trailed Valparaiso 43-40 at the half. The Crusaders (7-19, 4-11) led by as many as nine points after the break before the Flames rallied, starting with a Kreps' 3-pointer with 5:09 left that put Illinois-Chicago ahead 71-70. Valparaiso twice recaptured the lead before Kreps hit a free-throw shot with 1:26 remaining as the Flames got the lead for good and he and Mayo finished out scoring. After the break, Illinois-Chicago held Valparaiso to 38 percent shooting from the field as the Flames saw 54 percent shooting. Urule Igbavboa had 20 points to lead the Crusaders, who also got 19 from Michael Rogers and 18 from Jake Diebler.
