Idaho State edges Northern Colorado 73-70

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) Tomas Sanchez's 3-pointer with 14 seconds to play was the difference as Idaho State defeated Northern Colorado 73-70 Thursday night.

Tate Unruh hit a jumper to give Northern Colorado a 70-68 lead with 38 seconds to play before Sanchez answered with his trey. Tevin Svihovec missed a potential game-winning shot with 2 seconds to play for Northern Colorado. Ayibakuro Preh grabbed the rebound, and scored two free throws to cap the scoring for the Bengals.

Sanchez scored 23 points on 8-of-19 shooting from the field. Andre Hatchett scored 19 points, and Chris Hansen added 12 points with five steals for Idaho State (8-12, 5-6 Big Sky), which bounced back after having lost in the closing seconds to Northern Arizona 67-65 on Saturday.

Derrick Barden scored 14 points, and Jordan Wilson added 13 to lead Northern Colorado (13-7, 7-4).
