Chase Grabau scored 18 points and Kenny McGowen added 16 points and a key steal as Idaho State ended a five-game losing streak with a 57-55 victory over Northern Colorado on Monday night.

Grabau made two free throws to put Idaho State (3-10, 1-1 Big Sky) ahead 55-53 with 1:57 remaining. After forcing a turnover, Melvin Morgan hit a turnaround jumper to make it a four-point game.

Paul Garnica pulled Northern Colorado (4-9, 1-1) to within 57-55 with two throws, but had the ball stolen by McGowen with nine seconds left.

The Bears had one last chance to tie it after Andre Hatchett missed the front end of a one-and-one at the free throw line. But Elliott Lloyd missed an off-balance layup before the final buzzer sounded.
