Howard 72, Delaware St. 65

Prince Okoroh scored 21 points as Howard defeated Delaware State 72-65 Tuesday night in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game.
The Bison (3-5, 1-1), leading 30-24 at halftime, blew the game open with an early second-half surge. Okoroh, Dadrian Collins and Alphonso Leary led Howard on a 28-12 run to open the half.
Okoroh hit 10 of 12 shots from the floor while Collins came off the bench to score 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including 4 of 4 from 3-point range. Leary added 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting. Mike Phillips was the fourth Bison in double figures with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
The Bison shot a sizzling 53.8 percent from the field (28 of 52) to Delaware State's 38.3 percent (23 for 60). The Hornets (4-4, 1-1) got 17 points apiece from Kendall Gray and Casey Walker, and 15 from Jay Threatt.
