Jonathon Simmons scored 25 points and Joseph Young 22 to lead Houston to a 90-80 victory against Rogers State on Wednesday night.
TaShawn Thomas added 14 points and Alandise Harris 10 for the Cougars (6-5).
Justynn Hammond scored 21 points and Kendrell Thompson 14 for Rogers State, a NAIA school in Claremore, Okla., that classified the game as an exhibition. The Hillcats' record remained 11-0.
Rogers State led 45-42 at the break, but Houston scored the first 10 points of the second half to take permanent control. Harris scored five points and Thomas four during the surge, and the Hillcats got no closer than four afterward.
