Hot shooting Duquesne downs New Orleans, 95-75

PITTSBURGH (AP) Micah Mason scored a career-high 28 points and tied a career best with six 3-pointers to help lead Duquesne past New Orleans, 95-75, on Monday night.

Derrick Colter finished with 15 points and a game best seven assists and Jeremiah Jones added 12 points for the Dukes (2-0).

Overall, Duquesne shot 61.5 percent from the field, dished out 25 assists, and hit 14 3-pointers.

New Orleans' Cameron Reed drilled a 3 for the first points of the game, which was the only lead the Privateers held the entire night. From there the Dukes ripped off a 21-5 run, capped by a Colter 3, to build a double digit lead which they held the rest of the night.

Duquesne pushed its lead as high as 29 (83-54) in the second half.

Michael Zeno scored 23 points to lead New Orleans (0-2). Christavious Gill added 17.
