Hofstra hires ex-Friars coach Wesh

Hofstra has hired Tim Welsh.
The former Providence coach spent the past two years as a
television analyst, but will be introduced at a news conference on
Thursday at 11 a.m.
The school made it official on Wednesday.
According to a source close to the situation, Welsh will earn
$600,000 per season.
Welsh, 49, was 145-126 in a decade at Providence and went to
the NCAA tournament twice in 10 seasons.
Welsh also spent three seasons as the head coach at Iona.
