HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) Lorenzo Cugini scored 19 points and led five into double-figure scoring as High Point romped past Gardner-Webb, 83-62, to maintain a share of first place in the Big South Conference Wednesday night.

Cugini knocked down 4 of 5 shots from beyond the arc and pulled down seven rebounds as the Panthers (20-7, 11-4) took a 12-point lead into halftime and cruised through the second half to pick up their 20th win of the season.

Adonis Burbage knocked down a jumper and a 3-pointer to get Gardner-Webb (16-12, 8-7) off to a 5-0 start, but Cugini brought High Point right back, sandwiching a pair of 3-pointers around a Brian Richardson trey and Devante Wallace added a fourth 3 to start the game and give High Point a 12-9 advantage the Panthers never relinquished.

Tyrell Nelson had 14 points to lead the Bulldogs and Jerome Hill and Burbage each added 13.
