Nick Barbour scored 18 points and High Point defeated Longwood 81-69 on Monday night. Barbour led three other Panthers (9-18) in double figures as Eugene Harris scored 17, Cruz Daniels tallied 12 points and 11 rebounds and Jourdan Morris chipped in 10 points. High Point shot 57.1 percent from the field (28 of 49), while the Lancers (15-12) shot 34.2 percent (26 of 72). The Panthers led by as many as 15 points, 26-11, on a layup by Steadman Short with 9:06 to play in the first half. Longwood cut the lead to 52-49 with 11:44 to play, but the Panthers went on a 10-4 run to take a 62-52 lead on a Barbour layup with 9:07 left. Ryan Bogan and Dana Smith scored 21 points each for Longwood and Antwan Carter added 19. The Panthers have won four of their last six games, while Longwood dropped its third in four games.
