Hawaii run nets 72-65 win over CS Bakersfield

HONOLULU (AP) Hawaii went on a 15-0 run midway through the second half to take control and went on to earn a 72-65 win over Cal State Bakersfield Saturday night.

Jaylin Airington made two free throws with :01 left to send the Roadrunners into halftime with a 34-28 lead and Tyrell Corbin drilled a 3-pointer to extend the lead to 44-35 with 15:18 left in the game.

Negus Webster-Chan answered with a 3-pointer to spark Hawaii's run.

Javonte Maynor's 3-pointer with :31 left cut the Hawaii lead to two at 67-65, but the Warriors hit 5 of 6 from the free throw line to preserve the win.

Roderick Bobbitt and Webster Chan finished with 16 and 15 points, respectively, to lead Hawaii (2-0).

Aly Ahmed scored 18 points to lead CS Bakersfield (0-2) and Airington added 14 points off the bench.
