Morgan Sabia had 19 points and eight rebounds to lead Hartford to a 60-55 win over St. Francis (Pa.), giving the Hawks their first victory of the season.

Hartford (1-3) had 10 steals and capitalized on the Red Flash's season-high 24 turnovers.

Although St. Francis won the battle of the boards 42-18, its 24 fouls allowed the Hawks to go to the free-throw line 24 times, hitting 15.

In a cold-shooting first half that ended in a 17-17 tie, Hartford shot 25.9 percent from the field (7 of 27) compared to 25 percent (6 of 24) for St. Francis.

The game was tied five times in the second half, but the Red Flash (2-3) went 2:42 without scoring as the Hawks took a 41-35 lead.

St. Francis closed to 51-47 with 2:26 left, but the Hawks made 7 of 10 free throws to seal the win.

Joe Zeglinski added 14 points for Hartford.

Umar Shannon led the Red Flash with 15 points.
