Point guard Justin Cobbs has decided to transfer from Minnesota.
The school said Wednesday that Cobbs wants to be closer to his home in Los Angeles.
Coach Tubby Smith says the team appreciates the contributions Cobbs made on and off the court last season. Cobbs played in 34 of 35 games as a freshman, averaging 2.1 points, 1.3 assists and 10.7 minutes per game as a backup.
Small forward Paul Carter has also decided to leave the Gophers program. Smith has signed five new players for next season.
