Gonzaga point guard Demetri Goodson was looking for a new school Wednesday after announcing he would transfer in order to try his luck on the gridiron.
"He has been a great teammate and I have the utmost respect for his toughness, and he always played and practiced hard," coach Mark Few said in a statement Tuesday.
Goodson could be eligible to play two years of football at whatever school he chooses. Gonzaga, located in Spokane, Wash., does not have a football program.
The 21-year-old junior averaged 5.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists last season for the Bulldogs and called his time at the school an "awesome experience."
