Giddy Potts leads Middle Tennessee over Marshall 90-51

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) Giddy Potts set career highs with eight 3-pointers and 28 points as Middle Tennessee turned an eight-point halftime lead into a 90-51 victory over Marshall on Thursday.

Middle Tennessee (14-13, 7-7 Conference USA) led 34-26 at the break and let Marshall within 36-32 after three minutes of the second half. The Blue Raiders then scored 18 straight to start a 50-7 run over the next 14 minutes, leading 86-39 with three minutes left. The freshman Potts had all eight of his 3s during that stretch and finished 10 of 14 from the field.

Marshall (9-17, 5-8) led 13-12 in the first half, but the Blue Raiders took the lead for good with a 10-0 run.

Perrin Buford added 13 points and Darnell Harris scored 12 for Middle Tennessee, which snapped its own three-game skid while ending Marshall's three-game winning streak.
