Georgia Southern eases past Trinity (Fla.) 86-49

STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) Jelani Hewitt and Trent Wiedeman scored 15 points apiece to lead Georgia Southern to an 86-49 win over Trinity Baptist (Fla.) on Tuesday night.
Mike Hughes, Curtis Diamond and Devonte Boykins added 10 each for Georgia Southern (1-1). Angel Matias' team-high 10 rebounds helped the Eagles outrebound Trinity 54-36.
Chadley Francois led Trinity, a National Christian College Athletic Association member, with nine points. The Tigers were held to 16-of-57 shooting (28.1 percent). Trinity's starters were 4 of 28 from the field.
Georgia Southern opened the game with a 13-0 run, which Trinity ended with its first basket at the 14:01 mark.
