Georgia Southern 83, UNC-Greensboro 69

Ben Drayton scored 19 points and Georgia Southern pulled away late in the game for an 83-69 victory over UNC Greensboro in a Southern Conference game Saturday night.
Jelani Hewitt added 12 points for the Eagles (14-12, 12-4), including six during a 10-0 run that lifted Georgia Southern from a 46-39 deficit to a 49-46 lead with 13:10 remaining.
Georgia Southern led the rest of the way, gradually increasing its lead until it reached double figures, 66-55, on two free throws by Drayton with 5:31 left.
The victory was the sixth in a row for the Eagles and ended their streak of four straight losses to the Spartans (12-16, 10-6). UNC Greensboro had its three-game winning streak snapped.
Eric Ferguson, Willie Powers and Jessie Pernell each scored 10 points for the Eagles.
Trevis Simpson scored 16 points to pace UNC Greensboro, and Kyle Randall and Aloysius Henry scored 14 each.
