Tashan Newsome scored 19 points and sparked a late run to lift Gardner-Webb over Radford 61-55 on Saturday.
The Runnin' Bulldogs (7-8, 2-1 Big South Conference) trailed 48-46 with 6:17 to play, and went on an 11-2 run to give the Highlanders their 11th straight loss.
Newsome scored five points during the spurt, including two free throws to cap it for a 57-50 lead with 28 seconds left.
Gardner-Webb was outrebounded 43-38 but scored 16 points off 16 turnovers. The Runnin' Bulldogs also kept Radford off the free-throw line, as the Highlanders went just 3 of 3 for the game. Gardner-Webb was 13 of 23 from the stripe.
R.J. Price led the Highlanders (3-12, 0-3) with 15 points and Jareal Smith had 13. Javonte Green chipped in 11 points and 11 rebounds for Radford, which shot just 35.5 percent from the field (22 of 62).
