G Collins slumping for No. 1 Kansas

If Bob Knight had been coaching Kansas, Sherron Collins would not have started the second half at Texas A&M on Monday night.

Luckily for Collins, Bill Self is still in charge of the No. 1-ranked Jayhawks. Self let Collins start the second half, and the slumping senior point guard made a couple of key contributions during a hard-fought 59-54 win.

The victory kept Kansas (25-1, 11-0 Big 12) on track for its sixth straight conference title.

Knight was doing the game as an analyst for ESPN. He said he thought Collins ought to be benched for having only three points on 0-for-3 shooting. There's no denying the Jayhawks' leader is slumping, hitting only 32 of his last 99 shots.
