Michael Snaer scored 16 of his 19 points in the second half as Florida State recovered from a season-opening loss to rout Buffalo 95-68 on Monday night.
Okaro White had 13 points - on 5 of 5 shooting - and freshman Aaron Thomas added 10 points for the Seminoles (1-1).
The Seminoles shot 59.6 percent (34 of 57) from the floor. They made 55.6 percent (10 of 18) of their three-pointers.
Tony Watson and Javon McCrea each had 17 points for Buffalo (0-2). Watson made 5 of 7 three-pointers. But the rest of the Bulls made just 1 of 10 from beyond the arc.
Xavier Ford added 16 points for Buffalo, which shot 50 percent (27 of 54) for the game.
Florida State was aggressive on defense, forcing 25 turnovers and blocking five shots.
White had 10 first-half points as Florida State grabbed a 47-30 lead at the half. The Seminoles shot 17 of 27 (63 percent) from the floor in the first half.
Florida State also had 17 assists, nearly doubling its output from the first game. The Seminoles managed just nine assists in the loss to South Alabama.
In the opener, Florida State struggled from beyond the 3-point arc and finished just 5 of 21 in a 76-71 loss to South Alabama. But on Monday, the Seminoles made 10 of 18. Snaer knocked down 4 of 7 shots from beyond the arc, and Terry Whisnant made 2 of 3 shots.
The long-range shooting was one reason why Florida State scored 95 points for the first time since a 97-63 win over Stetson in December 2010.
Florida State's newcomers also played better in their second game. Thomas, a freshman, made 5 of 9 shots. Another freshman, Montay Brandon, added eight points and was 3 of 3 from the floor. Centers Kiel Turpin (seven points) and Boris Bojanovsky (six points) also made contributions.
Two problem areas for Florida State continue to be turnovers and rebounding. The Seminoles committed 17 turnovers and were outrebounded by the Bulls 28-27.
