FIU runs away from NAIA Florida Memorial for a 67-51 win

MIAMI (AP) Daviyon Draper and Adrian Diaz combined to score 36 and grab 20 rebounds as Florida International cruised past NAIA Florida Memorial Monday night.

The Panthers, from Conference USA, start the season 2-0 for the second straight season after topping Trinity Baptist in Friday's season-opener, 71-39.

Draper, who scored a dozen points Friday, popped for 19 points and six rebounds against the Fighting Lions. Diaz scored a team-high 15 points Friday and had 17 points and 14 rebounds against Florida Memorial.

The Panthers built a 17-point lead in the first half, 35-18.

Florida International plays three games in the Men Against Breast Cancer tournament, facing host James Madison, Tennessee-Martin and Oral Robert on consecutive nights.

Aluk Adub scored 19 points, converting 10 of 10 from the free throw line, to lead Florida Memorial. The Golden Lions hired Artis Maddux to be their head coach July 17.
