Warren Edney scored 20 points and Fairfield shot 75 percent from the field in the first half to rout Norfolk State 91-56 on Friday.

Derek Needham added 17 points and six assists for the Stags (2-3), who made 18 of 24 field goals in the first half and were 36 for 57 (63.2 percent) for the game.

Fairfield, coming off a 60-51 loss to Saint Joseph's, almost equaled that point total in the first half, taking a 47-22 lead in the Philly Hoop Group Classic.

After not making more than six 3-pointers in any game this season, the Stags had six in the first half, and shot 8 of 13 for the game. Needham was 4 for 5.

Keith Matthews added a career-high 15 points, plus eight rebounds, while Jamel Field also had 15 points for Fairfield.

Kyle O'Quinn had 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Spartans (1-4), who shot 20 for 56 from the field (35.7 percent) and made only 1 of 13 3-pointers.
