Rakim Sanders scored 14 of his 22 points in the second half as Fairfield held off Manhattan 60-54 Thursday night for the Stags' fourth straight win.

Fairfield (14-10, 9-4 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), which has won six of its last seven, split the season series with the Jaspers, who won 53-51 on Jan. 8.

After the Stags took a 10-2 lead, Manhattan (17-9, 10-4) rattled off 12 straight to pull ahead. Fairfield closed out the half on a 16-4 run for a 26-18 advantage, then led by as many as 15 after the break.

Manhattan trimmed the deficit to five, 53-48 with 3:11 remaining, then finally got within four on Rhamel Brown's layup with 24 seconds left.

Two free throws by Sanders were matched by Manhattan's Michael Alvarado with 9 seconds remaining. Derek Needham's two foul shots a second later finished the scoring.

George Beamon's 19 points led the Jaspers.
