ETSU tops Kennesaw State 86-73

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) Lester Wilson scored 19 points Sunday and Rashawn Rembert and Kinard Gadsden-Gilliard added 16 each as East Tennessee State beat Kennesaw State 86-73 with a second-half surge.
A.J. Merriweather scored 14 and Jalen Riley 11 for ETSU (12-11, 5-5 Atlantic Sun). The Buccaneers were outshot 43.6 percent to 41.9 percent, but took advantage of the Owls' foul trouble to score 29 free throws.
Delbert Love scored seven points in Kennesaw's 12-2 opening run, but ETSU replied with an 11-3 run, tying it at 35 at halftime on a free throw by Riley. Kennesaw committed 17 fouls in the half and 28 in the game to ETSU's 20.
Nigel Pruitt's back-to-back treys put Kennesaw State up 43-39 in the second half, but the Buccaneers ripped an 11-1 run for a 55-52 lead, then pulled away.
Love led the Owls (4-20, 1-10) with 22, Bernard Morena scored 13 and Pruitt 10.
