ETSU 81, Troy 71

Marcus Dubose scored a career-high 27 points and East Tennessee State held off Troy 81-71 on Saturday.
Jarvis Jones added 14 points and Tommy Hubbard contributed a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds for ETSU (2-1).
Leading by 13 points early in the second half, ETSU went on a 15-3 run to build its biggest lead at 73-58 with 8:48 to play. The run was capped by a 3-pointer by Jones, who made 4 of 6 from behind the arc.
With ETSU holding a 70-45 advantage, Troy (1-2) went on a 19-7 run to trim the deficit to 77-64 with 5:19 to play. However, the rally fizzled as the Trojans went nearly 4 minutes without scoring. ETSU led 81-64 with 1:57 remaining.
Troy scored the last seven points of the game for the final margin.
R.J. Scott scored 15 points and Nic Combs had 10 for the Trojans.
