Just barely one week into the season, ESPN’s Joe Lunardi published his Way-too-Early NCAA Tournament brackets.

It’s never too early to talk bracketology, right? Well we don’t think so, it’s fun! Especially when your team is ranked so high!

What seed do you think Arizona landed in ESPN bracketologist, Joe Lunardi’s first published prediction of his NCAA Tournament Bracket? As of November 17, 2016, he has them as the No. 2 seed in the West taking on South Dakota State.

Who?

Other Pac-12 teams that made the bracket: The Oregon Ducks came in as the No. 2 seed in the South. The UCLA Bruins took the No. 4 seed in the East.  The Colorado Buffs, the No. 10 seed also in the West. Cal was placed at the No. 7 seed in the Midwest along with Chance Comanche’s mom’s alma mater, Long Beach State at No. 13.

Five Pac-12 teams made it into a bracket, which means he thinks USC, Utah and the rest will be clawing their way into the tournament. But somehow South Dakota State made an appearance.

The Wildcats will play Gonzaga in the Los Angeles at the STAPLES center in December. Lunardi placed the Zags as the No. 3 seed in the West. That would mean, at least in Lunardi’s eyes, that this game between Arizona and Gonzaga will be YUGE!

Who are the No. 1 seeds in this way too early prediction you ask? The usual suspects: Kentucky (Wildcats), Duke (one loss so far, they are grouped in the West with Arizona), Villanova, and North Carolina. Kansas is included as the No. 2 seed in the Midwest.

Monmouth made it! They are slated at No. 12 in the East, cannot wait to see what bench antics they will have ready for the world this year.

The surprises? Notre Dame OR Michigan as the No. 12 seed in the Midwest, would have thought, based on history, that Notre Dame would have a solid six seed at the very least.

Well there you have it…just four more months and a million iterations and we will have our final brackets for the 2017 Tournament. Make no mistake about it, just because the Wildcats seem a tad dessimated at the moment, they all believe they can win it all! Stay positive Wildcats fans!
