Eastern Kentucky beats Tennessee State 94-78

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Glenn Cosey scored 24 points, including six 3-pointers, to lead Eastern Kentucky over Tennessee State 94-78 on Thursday.

Tarius Johnson scored 13, Marcus Lewis and Isaac McGlone had 11 and Eric Stutz added 10 for Eastern Kentucky (14-6, 5-2 Ohio Valley), which shot 55 percent from the floor, including 13 of 25 from beyond the arc.

Tennessee State (2-20, 1-7) was led by Patrick Miller with a season-high 33 points. Jordan Gaither added 20 points on 7 of 9 shooting. Gaither entered the game averaging 1.7 ppg. The Tigers shot 55 percent as a team, including 9 of 17 on 3-point attempts.

The Colonels raced out to a 15-4 lead over the first 5:20 of the game, and led by 21 with 7:51 in the first half after McGlone buried a trey.

TSU's 12-2 run cut the deficit to 13 with 6:34, but the Tigers got no closer.
