Brock Young scored 22 points with his first basket putting him over 1,000 for his career as East Carolina cruised to a 91-70 win over Fayetteville State on Saturday.

The Pirates (7-2), who are undefeated in six home games this season, never trailed against the Division II Broncos.

East Carolina led by as many as 17 in the first half and took its greatest lead at 89-56 with 3:49 left. All 12 players who got into the game scored at least two points and 11 players had at least two rebounds.

Darrius Morrow added 11 for the Pirates, who shot 49.2 percent from the field (31 of 63), including 9 of 28 from 3-point range. East Carolina also made 20 of 33 free throws.

Tyrell Tate scored 14 to lead Fayetteville State, which was 24 of 70 from the field (34.3 percent).

The Pirates scored 16 points in the first half off 12 Broncos turnovers.
